Our Natural Mineral Specimens section offers collectors a wide range of high-quality, untouched, beautiful, and geologically interesting crystals and minerals. The collection includes small, medium, and large specimens, as well as classic and cabinet pieces, all in their natural form. FOSSILS, ARTIFACTS AND METEORITES

Natural fossils, polished display fossils, fossil-related items, conglomerate fossil tables, and petrified wood slices—ranging from mini to giant—are all available. The collection also includes dinosaur-related pieces, ammonites, nautilus, and paleoanthropological artefacts such as stone hand-axes or scrapers, as well as rare items like an Aepyornis Elephant Bird egg or meteorites. CRYSTALS AND CLUSTERS

This category features Quartz in every shape, size, and colour—from massive two-tonne single crystals to rare two-centimetre Hollandite Star Crystals. You’ll also find Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Citrine, Red Hematoid, Golden Limonite, and Black Morion. The collection includes Quartz with unusual inclusions such as Rutilated Quartz, Window Quartz, Sceptres, Skeletal, Enhydro, Chlorite, Actinolite, Pineapple and Candle Quartz, and Phantoms.

Rarities are also available, including Ajoite, Garnets in Quartz, Mica in Quartz, and clusters with unique forms—cascading, unusually bright, floaters, self-healed regrowth, and other distinctive shapes. The selection occasionally includes non-quartz mineral clusters as well.

RARE AND ULTRA RARE

There is always that one piece! Over years of buying collections and working with rocks from Madagascar, Namibia, Congo, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and beyond, we’ve discovered items that are truly unique—some cannot be repeated, and others are relics from decades past. Occasionally, we come across a rare inclusion, the finest example from a new mineral deposit, a mineral from yesteryear, or a genuine one-of-a-kind anomaly. Many of these exceptional pieces have been set aside from our wholesale business.

With over 35 years supplying hundreds of shops and rock businesses, and more than 40 years of mineral collecting experience, we are well qualified to recognise “one-off” unique pieces—items that may never be found again. Super rare doesn’t always mean super expensive; these treasures range from affordable to top-tier rarities. Examples include an old Tsumeb specimen, Papagoite, Rhodochrosite, a perfect Golden Rutile Crystal, Indicolite, Red Olmiite, Cuprosklodowskite, an Elephant Bird Egg, a 12-ton petrified wood tree specimen, or a 150kg Orbicular Ocean Jasper display piece. We are passionate about searching for these “needle in the haystack” anomalies, whether it’s a 200-year-old carved box from Madagascar, antique jewellery, artefacts, or old mining memorabilia.

I have also released items from my private collection, built over 40 years. This includes more than 5,000 minerals, around 2,000 fossils, and 11,000 stone tools and palaeoanthropological artefacts, along with other unusual finds. Collecting has always been my passion (hence the Toprock logo), and I understand the excitement of seeking out pieces for their beauty and the knowledge they offer. MUSEUM PIECES AND ANTIQUES

This section showcases items that truly belong in a museum, even though they are not from museums—they may one day find their way into museum collections or top private displays. With 35 years in the rock business, we recognise exceptional “one in a million” pieces of natural art or historical anomalies. Our interests span mineralogy, palaeontology, palaeoanthropology, gemmology, geology, history, the natural sciences, African art, and antiques, and we are always actively searching for remarkable finds.

This category includes giant and rare display items, highly interesting and educational pieces, and jaw-dropping minerals and crystal display specimens that are among the best of their kind. Examples range from a 101 kg Dioptase specimen (we have the largest and second largest in the world), ancient African bronze sculptures, exceptional large mineral species, giant quartz clusters (some up to 7 tons), a 500-year-old African mask, historically significant artefacts, a 5-ton polished semi-precious piece, the largest Aepyornis Elephant Bird Egg in the world, or a precious gem crystal (such as a 14 cm gem Demantoid Garnet crystal). We never know what we’ll discover next, but we’re always searching mines and remote locations across Africa and Madagascar, with the help of over 2,500 contributors from our wholesale business.
