Hand Made XXX Rare Blue Lace Agate Table Top x 1 From Namibia

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 

Exceptional piece made by the legendary Ken Cleland (an old friend) for the Sultan of Brunei in 1988. It's a one of a kind, unique and stunning NAMIBIAN BLUE LACE AGATE TABLE TOP. It is made from mosaic tiles on a lightweight Aluminium honeycomb base. This is NOT a repeatable item, and Ken, unexpectedly, passed away a couple of years ago. Multitudes of Blue and White Banded Namibian straight platelets of rare rough material sliced up and polished and set onto the Honeycomb Aluminium (which is what they use for Airplane wings for maximum strength and minimum weight!)

This is a classic One-Of A-Kind Special Piece and has been perfectly executed, with  a complex design and high quality craftmanship. It is also relatively light weight because of the Honeycomb Aluminium base. We had played with idea of making a stunning hardwood table to set it into, but then we would probably keep it! And it has to match its settings to fit in with its new surroundings. This will be packed VERY carefully and the packaging is included into the price. Whereas its not the cheapest item on the website, you could also easily pay $15000-$20 000 for an item like this to be made up today and we have allowed a good 30% discount for freight and duties into the deal to still keep it below expected cost. 

This an "Extreme" Piece and is a masterpiece made from hundreds of mosaics of a rare and expensive semi precious material. Keeping in mind that you need more than 3 times the weight of this material used to actually cut and make the mosaics to make an item like this, and keeping n  mind that Blue Lace Agate is now R450 000/ $26000 per TON and the rough must have been at least 500-600kg originally to make this ( IF you can get it!) Our  friend Martin is sporadically mining George Swanson old deposit in Namibia now, but this Comes from George many years ago when the Blue Lace was a little cheaper. Ken made this piece perfectly, with hundreds of  perfect Blue Lace Agate mosaics cut from decent thickness of Blue Agate. It was made as pure decadence where money wasn't an issue, but uniqueness and quality was. Ken Cleland was a perfectionist and also made the Golden Tiger Eye A grade tables that we have and made a Blue Agate Swimming pool that matched this.

Exquisite, but you don't want to know, or guess at the price! None the less, this piece has surfaced from his wife, Evie , who is also a good friend) and is a spectacular piece that needs a nice classic hardwood table or edging to make it into an outstanding countertop or table!
