PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Very large, Cabinet-sized Poldervaartite and Bultfonteinite Specimen. Blocky Beige Bipyramidical Nesosilicate Crystals growing on and inside of a Ferro Manganese matrix vug formation with short Acicular Bultfonteinite crystals (originally discovered in Bultfontein, Orange Free State, South Africa)

This is not super spectacular, but is a good specimen super rare Mineral, renamed/recognised as Olmiite in the late 1990s from the N'Çhwaning Mine. This may not look spectacular but it is great specimen of its type and is long gone to try and find again now, as this was early 1990's.

Poldervaartite and Bultfonteinite are two minerals that were occasionally found together at the N'Çhwaning mine in Northern Cape, Kalahari Manganese Fields, South Africa. Poldervaartite is a calcium-manganese silicate mineral characterized by its milky white to peach colors and its chemical formula, while Bultfonteinite is an acicular calcium silicate hydrate mineral known for its complex crystal structure and white, opaque appearance - known only from one other location that it was named after; Bultfontein.
