Natural Ultra Rare Ajoite Specimen x 1 From Messina Mines, Musina, Limpopo

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 

This is a natural - and ULTRA Rare - Ajoite Specimen in a botryoidal stalagmitic crystal formation, with a drusy quartz coating. As any collector will well know, Ajoite is SUPER rare. This botryoidal Crystalline Ajoite piece is so much rarer than the normal Ajoite Quartz.

This specimen come out of 5th Shaft in early 1980'S and was taken out by Harry Smith, Chief blaster of Messina and Jimmy Townsend, his father in Law, who was a characterful grand old prospector in old style . Jimmy used to walk around the water tower in Townsend Street in Messina and fire his gun into the air to scare the Lions away... MANY years after there were any Lions! I learnt a lot from Jimmy! ) and I bought up a large quantity of Ajoite and Messina Quartz around 1991, not knowing they would be valuable much later (and we sold 99% of them many years ago, now they are 20 times the price and like Hens Teeth! There were certainly only a handful of this Botryoidal type, but 100% Ahoite in quartz it is and an attractive small cluster as well. .
