Natural 4 Billion Year Old Iron Gibeon Meteorite Slice x 1 From Gibeon, Namibia

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 

This is a 11.2 cm wide x 11 cm long natural Iron Nickel Gibeon Meteorite Slice with Widmanstätten crystalline lines. It's over 4 billion years old and came from Mars' orbit, having been found in Gibeon, Namibia in 1973. Not too many of these beauties flying around (most of them were exported many many years ago, so they come up internationally every now and then at very expensive prices)  and they so rarely surface for sale that there's probably more chance of being hit by a meteorite than being able to get a good one!  It is estimated that they landed in the Gibeon Region around 80,000 years ago. The massive meteoroid that created them crashed and broke apart into numerous pieces across what is now Namibia, where they were discovered by Europeans in 1836.
