Natural Crisscross Smokey Quartz With Enhydro x 1 From Brandberg Namibia

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 

Nice, Very Interesting 11.5cm Long Clear Brandberg Crossed Quartz Crystal Formation , the largest Crystal Having an Enhydro Water Chamber inclusion..the gas bubble in the water moves up and down both sides (approx 2cm ) of a previous Phantom Crystal Growth, which is one of the signatures for "Window Quartz."" This is a Clear floater and has wispy smokey lines. 

Brandberg Quartz comes from the 130 million year old Brandberg Mountain (The tallest in Namibia)  and is a Granite Intrusion... but the quartz vugs that these are found inside of come from a Basalt Lava Volcanic Eruption layer put down approx 80 Million Years ago. The Enhydros are causes by layers of Crystal Growth between Hot and Cold Lava  periods. Lava forms hollow geodes and vugs/airchambers as it cools and contracts the silica in the basalt forms Quartz Crystal Growth. The crystals are hot and cold alternatively, sometimes the bubbles blow out when they get hot (it has happened to many a rock collector when they have left their beloved Enhydro Crystal in the sun too long , and it shatters when the water boils!) With The next Condensation period, the broken chamber can now hold the water, creating liquid condensation that sits in these empty gas chambers..and then the next quartz groth periods grow over this. You can see the phantom lines in many of these, showing you all of its growth periods over the million of years!
