Ultra Rare fluorescent Skorpionite and Tarbuttite Specimen
This small but special piece from the legendary Skorpion Mine (type locality for Skorpionite) is a real rarity. Skorpionite is one of the world's rarest zinc phosphates (discovered 2003, only known from this closed mine) - even scarcer than Tarbuttite, which is itself incredibly rare. The cherry on top? Bright orange-red fluorescence under UV (primarily from Tarbuttite, with possible Skorpionite accents), plus subtle blue flashes from associated zinc minerals.
Semi-crystalline in its dolomite-zinc matrix with a subtle sparkle and dramatic glow contrast. Comes in its original Perspex box from an old private collection.
Not the flashiest, but Skorpionite's extreme rarity makes any good example a collector gem - and this one glows like a dream.
