Natural XXXL Silky Malachite Rosette Specimen x 1 From Kasompe, Congo

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 

This is an ABSOLUTELY SUPERB XXXL Natural Silky Malachite Specimen with Chatoyant Discs and Rosettes from Kasompe in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This a Giant Fantasy Piece with its multiple highly chatoyant disc formations all over the face (from Cu rich water dripping from the roof). This much rarer form of malachite is a lot more interesting and beautiful than normal Malachite, as the play of light comes from the fine needles of its recrystallisation process. Whichever way you walk around this piece, it shimmers with velvet green plays of light everywhere you look. We have not ever seen anything like this one from dealing in minerals for 35 years, let alone in this sort of size. 63 cm wide by 56 cm high and almost 40 cm deep, along with being partly hollow with a honeycomb of Malachite platelets at the back, its also not as heavy as it should be for its massive size (and Malachite is 66% pure Copper) , but it is 87 kg, so you wont be lifting this by yourself! Absolutely stunning piece.

This probably belongs in a Museum, but it will be spectacular wherever it finds its home.
